Overview

how create dance floor : Overview
Few things are better than when the music begins to move you, and it's better on a well-made dance floor. When it's your own dance floor, you can have the club or banquet experience in your home.

Step 1

Measure the space. Knowing the size of the area is required so that the MDF board can be cut to correct specifications. Decide whether the dance floor will be for a few couples or for a banquet or large dance area. If it's just for the house and a few people, consider an area of 8 by 12 feet if possible.

Step 2

Obtain supplies. MDF board can be obtained from any hardware store. The board is typically cut in 3/4-inch thickness. It will take multiple sections placed together to create an 8-by-12 dance floor. Rubber matting or felt bottom can also be bought at the same store. This can keep the dance floor from sliding and from scratching any surface beneath it.

Step 3

Lay the floor to specifications. Place the flooring in side-by-side sections. Make sure they're as close together as possible to avoid gaps. Use a level to be certain of even flooring. Once the dance floor is put down, move across it to determine if there's any slipping and need for the rubber bottom. If so, flip each section and use glue to adhere the bottom underneath the MDF.

Step 4

Consider sealing. Sealing will prevent the MDF from staining in the event of spills, smudges and other threats to its surface. Sealing solutions can also be bought at a hardware store. They can be applied by hand and dry quickly, treating the surface and protecting it.

Step 5

Test the area. A dance floor made up of MDF should give a clear, crisp sound of each step. Make sure the floor feels even and stable. If it's meant to be portable, take it apart and reassemble it to test out its reconstruction and the amount of time it takes to put back together.

and it will be awesome.
