Overview

how own beer mugs : Overview : Etched beer glass
Having a custom bar is a perk to many men. Along with designing the setup and layout, many men name their bars and also like to incorporate custom designs and beer mugs. While it is possible to order pricey customized beer glasses, making a beer mug is simple and easy.

Step 1

Buy clear glass beer mugs. These can be found cheaply at discount and garden supply stores such as Garden Ridge. Be sure to pick up a few extra in case you mess up.

Step 2

Purchase etching stencils from the craft store. For beer mugs, lettering is a great idea. You can etch on your initials, name, or a catchy slogan. You may also find a stencil design that goes with your bar theme.

Step 3

Remove the backing from the stencil. Carefully apply the sticky side of the stencil to the glass. Use the edge of a credit card or wooden craft stick to smooth out any bubbles.

Step 4

Use the foam brush to apply a thick amount of etching cream to the stencil. Leave the etching cream on the glass for 10 to 15 minutes, or check the package directions for time.

Step 5

Remove the cream by rinsing the mug under warm water. Pat it dry with a hand towel. Hand wash it.

TIPS AND WARNINGS

  • TIP : Craft stickers can be used in place of stencils.
  • WARNING : Etching cream contains acid, be careful to get it on the glass only.

Beer Masters on Facebook
Site Manager - Shannon The extent at which I like beer may border on the ridiculous, but I have always felt that the people who love beer for all the right reasons are the kind of people we need more of in this world.

I want to make beermasters.com a portal for beer enthusiasts and experts from around the world. This is a place to share experiences, favorite beer recipes and pubs and to learn all there is to learn about the art of making and enjoying beer. Think of this place as the best neighborhood pub ever...sure I can't pour you anything from a tap, but as soon as someone invents that star trek food making thing, we will all get hilarious together.

and it will be awesome.
