Overview

how build model airplane out of beer cans : Overview : The beer can plane will be similar to this water bottle plane
Since you're always flying high when you drink your favorite beer, it might be fun to turn the beer cans into model airplane. While it may seem like a crazy task, and probably is, it is not that difficult. It will also make for a very funny conversation piece at your next party.

Step 1

Prepare your cans. Clean out the cans with warm soapy water and allow to dry. One can will serve as the body of the plane, while the other one will be cut to make plane pieces.

Step 2

Set up the airplane body. Use your snips to cut a line around the bottom of the can, leaving the top of the bottom piece still attached. Fold the bottom piece upward, still attached to the main piece, and cut off the top half of the circular bottom piece. This is the tail of the plane.

Step 3

Set up the wings, wheels and propeller. Fully cut off the bottom of the second can and set the round bottom piece aside. Cut a strip about 2 inches wide from the can, with a cut down the middle of the strip so it is one flat piece of aluminum. Cut a notch in the middle of this piece. These are your wings. Snip the circular bottom piece into an "X" shape by cutting out notches. This is your propeller. Use more aluminum from the second can to cut out two circles. These are your wheels.

Step 4

Attach everything together. Use a durable craft glue to glue all the pieces in place. Attach the middle of the wing piece to the top of the airplane's body, about two-thirds of the way from the front. Glue the center of the propeller to the front of the airplane's nose. Glue the wheels near the belly of the plane, about one-third of the way from the front.

TIPS AND WARNINGS

  • TIP : Make sure to slightly bend the propeller piece and wing piece so they are slightly angled away from the body of the plane.
  • WARNING : Snips and aluminum can pieces are sharp. Don't attempt this project right after you drink the beer from the two cans you are using.

Beer Masters on Facebook
Site Manager - Shannon The extent at which I like beer may border on the ridiculous, but I have always felt that the people who love beer for all the right reasons are the kind of people we need more of in this world.

I want to make beermasters.com a portal for beer enthusiasts and experts from around the world. This is a place to share experiences, favorite beer recipes and pubs and to learn all there is to learn about the art of making and enjoying beer. Think of this place as the best neighborhood pub ever...sure I can't pour you anything from a tap, but as soon as someone invents that star trek food making thing, we will all get hilarious together.

and it will be awesome.
