All over the world people enjoy a cold beer now and then throw away the bottle caps, assuming they are just trash. At first glance, they may seem to be, but a closer look and some imagination reveals a terrific source for beer bottle cap crafts. Most are easy to do, quickly made and, best of all, assist in keeping landfills down. Plus, beer bottle caps can be used in crafting things that can be used as gifts as well as items for personal use.
Refrigerator Magnets
Pie magnetsA wonderful craft to make with beer bottle caps is miniature pie refrigerator magnets. These cute little pies look like the real thing. The bottle cap serves as the pie plate. The actual pies are made of seed beads and felt or baked painted polymer clay. Glue a magnet on the back of the finished pie. They make a terrific gift for people who collect refrigerator magnets.
Trivets
Beer cap trivet without crochetingThese handy trivets will protect counters from hot pots. Smaller ones are great to set hot cups of coffee or tea on. The beer bottle caps can be glued together as is in a pattern, or they can be covered by colorfully crocheting around them. Once that is done they are joined by stitching the crocheted bottle caps together.
