Overview

how open beer bottle : Overview :
Drinking beer is one of the few truly international activities in the world. Beer drinking has been around at least since the Egyptians, and some beer recipes have even survived from those ancient days. All beer drinking starts the same---the smile on the face when receiving a beer, and the desire for that first taste of frothy goodness.

Two Ways to Open a Beer

Step 1

Beer is bottled and capped in two ways: twist top and pop top. There are a variety of ways to open both types.

Step 2

Correct way!Correct way!
The easiest way to open a pop-top bottle is with a bottle cap opener. It has a long flat upper section with a smaller flat section that is about half the length of the upper section. The bottle cap opener looks much like an open mouth with the bottom jaw pushed back a bit. Place the bottom section's edge underneath the cap's edge with the teeth, push the entire item away from where it is connected to the bottle cap, and pry the cap off the bottle smoothly.

Step 3

To open a pop-top bottle without an opener, you will need a sturdy surface that has a nice sharp edge. Make sure this surface is either very difficult to harm or that it will not matter whether you harm this surface. Hook the bottle of beer over the sharp edge of the table so the bottle cap's teeth sit directly on the edge. Using the palm of your hand, strike the top of the bottle where the bottle cap is resting on the table in a diagonal direction, as if to break the bottle. The bottle will be forced down, and the bottle cap will pop off.

Step 4

There are two simple ways to open a bottle with a twist-off top. You could open the beer with the pop-top bottle opening rules, but the top is designed to twist off easily. The common to open a twist-off top is to wrap your hand around the bottle cap and twist in a counterclockwise direction.

Step 5

If you have sensitive hands, you could use a V-shape tool that helps twist off the cap. You could also put on a glove or wrap a piece of cloth, like a dishtowel or your T-shirt, around the cap. Place your hand on top of the bottle so your palm is on the cap, and turn counterclockwise.

TIPS AND WARNINGS

  • TIP : When using a bottle cap opener, make sure to apply enough sideways force to keep the smaller edge underneath the cap. If a twist-off cap does not come off easily, just pry it off with a bottle opener. When twisting off a cap, do not shake the beer.
  • WARNING : If you are using a surface to remove the cap, make sure to hit the bottle cap with the ball of your palm. Do not attempt to open the bottle on the side of the table if you've had wrist surgery or suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. Make sure to hit at a diagonal or you will break the bottle. Do not jar the bottle or it will shake up and produce overflowing foam. Do not drink and drive. Only those person over the age of 21 may drink.
