- 8 ounces beer
- 2 ounces Bloody Mary mix
- Lime
- 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- Hot sauce
- Ground black pepper
Overview
The Bloody Mary has long been a popular drink choice to accompany a weekend brunch after a late night out. There are many different recipes for this refreshing and spicy drink, including a number of variations based on the original ingredients. One variation of the Bloody Mary is the bloody beer. By replacing the vodka commonly called for in Bloody Mary recipes with a light beer or lager, imbibers can use other similar ingredients to make this version of the Bloody Mary.
Step 1
Pour the beer in a tall pilsner or pint glass. For best results, select a light beer or lager.
Step 2
Add the Bloody Mary mix to the glass.
Step 3
Squeeze the juice from one half of a lime into the glass.
Step 4
Add the Worcestershire sauce to the glass.
Step 5
Top the mixture with hot sauce to taste.
Step 6
Use a spoon or straw to mix the drink.
TIPS AND WARNINGS
- TIP : For added flavor and presentation, coat the rim of the glass with a mixture of chili powder and salt.
Garnish with a celery stalk, pickled green beans or pickled okra, if desired.
